Deverill top reseller for IGEL
27/08/2009
South coast based IT and training company, Deverill, has become IGEL’s top reseller in the UK, for thin client terminals. Selling an increase of over 400 per cent from January to date compared to 2008.
IGEL thin client terminals are the alternative to business desktop PCs. A thin client terminal is a model of computer networking where most of the function of the system is located in a central server. IGEL technology suggests that the use of thin client terminals as an alternative to desktop PCs is helping to significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the UK and across Western Europe. Figures suggest that thin clients consume 50 per cent less power than traditional PCs when in operation*. IGEL thin clients also help to increase data security, and are an ideal platform for desktop virtualisation projects.
Deverill has implemented IGEL thin client terminals to a number of its clients including UK charity Norwood, who has purchased around 350 terminals.
CEO of Deverill, Joel Jervis said: “Saving money and energy is top of many of our clients’ agendas and at Deverill we have implemented a green audit initiative which aims to encourage our clients and other businesses to consider how IT is used to help save money and save the environment. IGEL thin client terminals are one way to reduce energy consumption as they do not consume as much power as traditional PCs and are cheaper to buy. We are thrilled to have become IGEL’s top UK reseller this year and look forward to continuing our positive working relationship.”
IGEL General Manager, Simon Richards said: “Deverill were one of the first partners of IGEL in the UK. They were one of the first to realise that IGEL brings unique benefits to its customers and the solutions which Deverill provide. It is this solution leading approach which means that IGEL can really add technology value and cost reduction to businesses.”
